This is the 2016 release Rémy Martin XO Cannes Limited Edition, created in honor of the 69th Cannes Film Festival. Rémy Martin is official supplier of  the festival since 2004 and started releasing special edition XO's in 2014. This is one of 25.000 bottles.

Since the introduction in 1874 Louis XIII de Rémy Martin, initially known as Age Inconnu, has been Rémy's most prestigious cognac, a blend composed of 1200 different Grande Champagne cognacs matured between 40 and 100 years, bottled in a decanter which was shaped after a 16th century metal flask found on a Jarnac battlefield in 1860 which was purchased by Rémy Martin.

Between 1874 and 1920 Rémy Martin Age Inconnu was sold in glass decanters made by Verrerie Royale de Saint Louis in Münzthal but these reproductions were far from perfect and so the production was entrusted to Cristallerie de Baccarat from 1920 onwards.

This version, presented in a clam-shell box with curved lids, was announced March 11, 2005 and remained in production until October 2009.

Created by Cellarmaster André Giraud, launched in 1981, Rémy Martin XO is composed of a unique blend from up to 400 eaux-de-vie coming exclusively from the most sought-after vineyards of Cognac: Grande Champagne (85%) and Petite Champagne. Several years after its introduction, the name changed into Rémy Martin XO Special which itself was replaced by Rémy Martin XO Excellence in 2003. Rémy Martin XO Special contains Cognac aged 8-35 years, bottled in a round grooved decanter, sometimes referred to as the sun decanter.

This one was bottled in 2000 in honor of the Year of the Dragon.

Rémy Cointreau has introduced a travel retail exclusive range called the Rémy Martin Reserve Cellar Selection, which celebrates the aromatic diversity of the House’s 35 ageing cellars at the Domaine de Merpins in Cognac, France. Each cellar has its own characteristics that imbue the spirit with specific aromatic notes. Rémy Martin ‘Reserve Cellar Selection’ Cellar N°28 is derived from an underground cellar which has always been the Cellar Masters’ ultimate reserve for the finest eaux-de-vie, housing the treasures with the greatest ageing potential. These eaux-de-vie benefit from the cellar’s almost constant humidity and temperature levels, which together provide perfect ageing conditions. Using mostly old casks is essential, as they confer silky notes of candied fruit to the eaux-de-vie to create a truly exceptional Cognac.

This Rémy Martin XO Excellence Limited Edition is a tribute to the age-old Rémy Martin Cellar Master's savoir-fare and is inspired by the copper stills in the Touzac distillery and the distinctive coloured stone of its aeging cellars. Released for the international duty-free market October 28th, 2015.

Rémy Martin Centaure X.V.S.O.P is a Fine Champagne, released in the early 1980s. Around 1964 the distillery started to use the phrase ‘Quality du Centaure’ and continued to do so until 1985.

Rémy Martin Napoleon Grande Fine Champagne was introduced in 1973 and remained in production until the 1980s. In 1984 Napoleon became a Fine Champagne Cognac named Centaure Napoleon. Around 1990 Centaure was discontinued due to which this Cognac continued as Rémy Martin Napoleon (Extra Old) until around 2000.
