Kweichow Moutai 1966 WuXing Three Great Revolutions
Kweichow Moutai WuXing "Three Great Revolutions" entered the domestic market in May 1966 and remained in production until 1982. The Three Great Revolutions are the 1911 Revolution, the Chinese Communist Revolution, and the 1966 Cultural Revolution.
This particular Moutai is exceptionally rare as it is the "old-style' low-neck earthenware bottle, used from early 1952 to July 1966, sealed with a oak cork and with the "Three Great Revolutions" back label which itself was introduced in May 1966. As such we are able to determine this bottle was released between May and July 1966. As the annual output of Kweichow in 1966 did not exceed 300 tons, which is the case for this entire decade, it remains the rarest of all regular Moutai.

Ronghe Moutai 2008/50 years old
In 1951, the Chinese government decided to produce Kweichow Moutai on a large scale to increase revenue for the country. To achieve this the 3 leading distilleries Ronghe, founded in 1879, Chengyi and Hengxing merged into the Kweichow Provincial Monopoly Company Renhuai Moutai Distillery (a.k.a. State-owned Moutai Distillery), owned by the newly formed Communist government.
After their distillery was confiscated decedents of Wang Rongxiao continued the production of Moutai, something which would eventually led to a court case with Kweichow Moutai.
This 50-years old Moutai, bottled in 2009, is one of the rare releases under the Ronghe name, which later changed into Rong Tai He Maotai.

Moutai 1950
This is a very rare Moutai, produced in Maotai Town, bottled October 28, 1950. Currently we are unaware which distillery released this decanter, that investigation is still ongoing. The decanter itself is made of pottery, wrapped in tissue paper which was common in those days. Less common is the fact that both front- and back label are attached over the tissue paper rather than under.
There are just a handful of closed pre-1952 Moutai left, 3 or them are Lay Mau which are all displayed in various Chinese musea. Prices for the these bottles varied from $ 300.000 to 1.550.000 USD, prices that demonstrate the importance of these bottles which are considered national heritage.
