Kweichow Moutai Chai You is a type of Moutai which has been blended with 5- to 10 year old Moutai. This is mellow, elegant, and profoundly complex. The classic savoury nuttiness of Sauce Aroma baijiu is in full effect, yet it's beautifully integrated with a sweet fruitiness that gradually emerges on the back palate. It’s interesting to note that the more you age a Moutai, the more savoury notes begin to emerge. The bright fruitiness persists and comes forth more fully on the finish. The alcohol is also remarkably smooth, with less heat still than younger expressions, making it really easy to imbibe.

In 1873, Emile Fillioux created a special blend for the private enjoyment of the Hennessy family. Over decades, other private blends were created, inaccessible to the public. After re-examining thier remarkable reserve library of extraordinarily old and diverse Cognac, Hennessy has recreated the formula of the original 1873.

Labelled as “Private Reserve”, this limited offerring contains within its blend of 14 selected Cognacs aged 50-100 years, a portion of Cognac from the 1870’s. The result is a exceptional Grande Champagne Cognac, deserving of both the Hennessy and Fillioux signatures.

Laurent Merlin Hors-Pair Petite Champagne, aged for 60 years. Laurent Merlin was founded in 1870 and continued selling Cognac, distilled from grapes harvested on their own vineyard, until around 2010 by when Carmen Merlin sold the vineyard and all remaining stocks. Hors-Pair was arguably the best Cognac from Merlin's portfolio.
