Marnier-Lapostolle Cherry-Cognac Fine Champagne 30° (200cl)
Cherry Marnier was one of the first fruit liqueurs created at the family's original distillery founded in 1827 in Neauphle-le-Château, near Versailles. Initially marketed as Cherry-Brandy, Cherry-Cognac or a combination of both names it was renamed Cherry Marnier in 1966, still bottled at 30% abv which was reduced to 25% in 1975 and further reduced to 24% in 1983, adapting the product to the consumer demand for low alcohol products, without harming its intrinsic quality.
Cherry Marnier was withdrawn from the US market in 1999 and from then on only available in a select number of European countries. In 2016 Campari Group became mayor shareholder and subsequently Cherry Marnier phased out January 1st 2017.

Rémy Martin Louis XIII (1969-1978)
Since the introduction in 1874 Louis XIII de Rémy Martin, initially known as Age Inconnu, has been Rémy's most prestigious cognac, a blend composed of 1200 different Grande Champagne cognacs matured between 40 and 100 years, bottled in a decanter which was shaped after a 16th century metal flask found on a Jarnac battlefield in 1850 which was purchased by Rémy Martin.
Between 1874 and 1920 Rémy Martin Age Inconnu was sold in glass decanters made by Verrerie Royale de Saint Louis in Münzthal but these reproductions were far from perfect and so the production was entrusted to Cristallerie de Baccarat from 1920 onwards.
This presentation of Remy Martin Louis XIII Very Old was produced between 1969 and 1979, accompanied by a 'battle of Jarnac' card but sold without a box!

Martell Cordon Rubis was released in 1986, a blend of Grande- and Petit Champagne Cognacs which were aged up to 40 years, positioned between Cordon Bleu and Cordon Argent (Extra). Cordon Rubis vanished from the market not long after its introduction which may have to do with the 1988 takeover by Seagrams, a Canadian company with bilingual employees who must have noticed that Rubis does sound near-identical to rubbish a.k.a. trash....

Chartreuse L'élixir Végétal (71%)
In 1605, the Duke of Estrees entrusted the Carthusians with a manuscript bearing a mysterious recipe made up of 130 plants that could give rise to an "Elixir of long life". For more than a century and a half, the Carthusians will develop this recipe which will give birth, thanks in particular to Brother Jérôme Maubec, to a final product fixed in 1764 called "Plant Elixir of the Grande Chartreuse". It was quickly distributed as a care product to local populations, especially during the cholera crisis of 1832. Brother Charles was the first to market it in local markets, descending on a donkey from the monastery. Since 1764, the recipe for the Elixir has remained unchanged which is what the monks claim but that's not entirely true as the % abv has been reduced from 71% to 69% in 2009.
This one is a 1970's release for the Italian market.
