In 1947 the tulip shaped decanter replaced the regular Claret bottle and, with some minor changes, this bottle is still in use today. This however is a replica of the Claret bottle as it was launched in 1870, released in extremely limited numbers in 1970, 100 years after its initial introduction.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of their VS limited-edition Cognac, Hennessy has enlisted the help of acclaimed South African artist FAITH XLVII. Mastering everything from painting to calligraphy to gold leaf detailing, her design that wraps around Hennessy VS Limited Edition Cognac is at once dynamic and classically alluring. Symbols of both the sun and time feature prominently in the artwork, immediately conjuring similarities with the process of cognac production– the natural elements that the eaux-de-vie rely on, the many years spent waiting for them to age to perfection… and these parallels were not lost on her: “Distilling and assembling eaux-de-vie is like my process… it’s about taking basic elements and transforming them into something extraordinary.”

The Hennessy 2016 Limited Edition release is the sixth in an ongoing series between Hennessy V.S and internationally renowned artists, including Ryan McGinness, Shepard Fairey, Os Gemêos, Futura, and KAWS. Campbell found inspiration for the 2016 Hennessy V.S Limited Edition bottle when traveling to Cognac, France, to get a feeling for the Maison’s history and creative process. In Cognac, he found an unexpected harmony between Hennessy and his own art. “Between the earth, the sun and the grapes, there’s an unpredictable subtlety that goes into crafting Cognac. The use of human touch to create Hennessy parallels my own art, creating a character and taking on a life of its own”.

Hennessy XO Exclusive Collection #1 Magnificence was initially launched in Asia Pacific travel retail on 1 June 2008, ahead of its release in the rest of the world, at a few selected duty free retailers such as Sky Connection at Hong Kong International Airport and Tasa Meng at Taipei International Airport. Presented in a numbered decanter encrusted with golden crystals, this  “more masculine” embossed gift box – in the plum colour which has been used since 2006 – has a shiny appearance and the name Hennessy XO written in gold lettering on its top.

Hennessy Classique is a rare super premium blend which was created especially for the Japanese market, introduced in 2000, discontinued in 2002.

Recently we have sampled a bottle and found the Cognac to be quite excellent, seemingly older as XO.

Hennessy Kenzo Yellow is the successor of the 1997 Hennessy Kenzo Blue bottle. According to our information about 18.000 bottles Kenzo Blue where released while it seems considerably less of the Yellow bottles found their way to the shelves.

Hennessy Kenzo Blue was launched in 1997, the result of a collaboration between Hennessy and designer Kenzo, in honour of their 25th anniversary. Some 18.000 bottles were released, containing a premium vintage Cognac.

Hennessy Privé was initially created in 1920 by request of James Hennessy who asked Hennessy's master blender to create a cognac that would be both structured and elegant, to reflect the values of Art Deco, worthy to honor his friends amongst the elite.

A century later Hennessy has revived this tradition as a fine tribute to James Hennessy, recreated by Hennessy's Master Blender Yann Fillioux, who selected very old eaux-de-vie - to create a very balanced cognac. Launched at Singapore Changi Airport in 2009 is available at airports, duty-free and travel retail outlets.

Back in 1979 Hennessy decided to discontinue Hennessy Extra and replace it with another 50 years old expression, named after the most sacred place in Hennessy's cellars: Paradis.
