This is the 2017 release Rémy Martin XO Cannes Limited Edition, created in honor of the 70th Cannes Film Festival. Rémy Martin is official supplier of  the festival since 2004.

This is Marc Newson's 2017 limited-edition design for the signature Hennessy X.O decanter. Once he had pared the bottle’s shape to its purest form, Marc chose to reprise its traditional decorative motifs – grapes and leaves – in a corrugated relief adding glass striations to the decanter.

Hennessy Nº1 Très Vieux Cognac was created in 1857 and it is the grandfather of all Hennessy blends. Occasionally, a small barrel of this cognac was bottled for special friends of the firm. This was indeed an exceptional cognac, well balanced, full bodied and with extremely delicate and noble aromas. Some of the Cognac used to assemble Nº1 is over 200 years old.

Today, it is a very special "Cuvée" exclusively reserved for the Hennessy family, and it is not commercialized anymore.

The pedigree of Hennessy Paradis Imperial stretches back almost two centuries.  In 1818, the Dowager Empress of Russiarequested a special blend of very old, gold-colored eaux-de-vie of the finest quality. In response, Hennessy's Master Blenders delivered their finest creation, a rare blend of Cognac of rare finesse.

Two hundred years later, in 2011, Hennessy is paying tribute to this first delivery with the release of Paradis Imperial. The aromas and flavors of Paradis Imperial are where the true elegance of the Cognac is revealed. Paradis Imperial is a blend of the finest eaux-de-vie, singled out immediately after their distillation. These exceptional eaux-de-vie, that represent less than 1% of the eaux-de-vie of a given vintage at the original selection, are between 30 to 130 years-old and are matured with individual care and attention in old casks before being used or poured into "Dames-Jeannes." After this maturation process, only one out of 1000 eaux-de-vie of a given vintage will become part of the Paradis Imperial blend.

Several years after its introduction, the name changed into Rémy Martin XO Special which itself was replaced by Rémy Martin XO Excellence in 2003.

This particular Rémy Martin Extra is a 35-year old Fine Champagne Cognac, bottled around 1985. Rémy Martin Extra was introduced in the 1920s but was discontinued shortly after WWII broke out. Rémy Martin Extra resurfaced again in 1975 as Rémy Martin Extra Centaure and remained in production until 2010 when he was replaced by Rémy Martin Centaure de Diamant.

Rémy Martin Napoleon Grande Fine Champagne was first released in 1973 and remained in production until the early 80's. In  1984 Napoleon became a Fine Champagne, named Centaure Napoleon. Around 1990 the name Centaure was scrapped and this expression continued as Rémy Martin Napoleon (Extra Old) until the millennium.

Rémy Martin Grande Champagne Age Inconnu (age unknown) is the oldest quality Cognac supplied by Rémy Martin. The original concept dates back to June 13th, 1874, when Paul-Emile Remy Martin officially registered the brandname of "Louis XIII Tres Grande Champagne - Age Unknown".

Age Inconnu is a blend of 1200 different eau-de-vie meticulously aged between 40 and 100 years, the name under which Louis XIII decanters where sold until around 1962. Age Inconnu remained available in regular bottles until the end of the 1970's.

Rémy Martin Centaure Limoges was first released in December 1981, a 50-year old Fine Champagne Cognac, bottled in a Royal Blue Bernardaud Limoges decanter shaped after the mythological creature Centaure.  

Weight of the decanter is 1486 grams, plastic cover is solid and does not show signs of leakage. The box is in good condition but discolored on one side.

Since its founding in 1765, Hennessy has upheld a tradition of supporting artistic creation.  This year Hennessy V.S and France’s world-renowned urban movement phenomenon, Les Twins, have collaborated to design the “Move Out Loud” limited edition bottles.

Through motion capture, Les Twins’ unique freestyle illustrates the expression of Hennessy through movement and music as a translation of the step-by-step Hennessy creation process, becoming patterns used to design the Limited Edition Bottles. The design is a call to join the movement beyond the previous territory, exploring new expressions of street culture in dance, fashion, and music. The collaboration creates a never-ending movement that represents Hennessy’s mantra, ‘Never Stop Never Settle.’ Much like Hennessy, Les Twins are in constant motion, aiming to push the limits, innovate, and challenge preconceived ideas.
