This is a very rare Macallan, vintage 1973, bottled for Japan. As this contains 43% ABV one would expect this to be a distillery release, but there is no sign of such to be found on the bottle.

Hanyu Golden Horse Special was bottled in the 1980's. Golden Horse was launched in 1948, the very first whisky sold under the supervision of Toa Shuzo.

Golden Horse is a blend of 23% Scottish Malt whiskies, sourced from Aberlour, Laphroaig and The Macallan brought together with 77% Hanyu.

This is the 2021 release of The Essence of Suntory, distilled at Suntory’s Yamazaki distillery in 2009, and bottled in 2021 after more than a decade in American Oak casks. It’s made using Golden Promise barley, whose profile might be familiar to fans of The Macallan.

Golden Promise is a brand name of malt most famously associated with The Macallan, who used it exclusively during the 1960s and 70s. In Japan, the Karuizawa Distillery started using the same brand once they were allowed to import barley from overseas, rather than use domestic.

Founded in 1887 the reknown Raffles Hotel Singapore celebrated the centenary a year early to coincide with the Year of the Tiger. We assume it was for this occasion that The Macallan crafted this very special Highland Malt Scotch Whisky.

Only a handful of these bottles have become available for sale in the past 10 years, mostly via action, some via high-end retail. One of the bottles was on display at The Macallan Experience which could be found at the Raffles from 26 October 2020 to 9 May 2021.

The Macallan Classic Cut 2021 Edition is the 45h edition in the classic cut range. This whisky is matured in an exquisite union of oak casks bottled to reveal a full and heightened flavour.

This expression reveals the unrivalled commitment to the master of wood and spirit for which The Macallan has been known since it was established in 1824. The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team has created this expression to perfectly complement the sweet lightness brought by ex-bourbon casks with the depth and complexity of The Macallan ‘s sherry seasoned oak casks. This limited expression delivers a full flavored and memorable whisky to savor.

The Macallan Amber, released in 2012, is part of the 1824 Series which exemplifies Macallan's commitment to 100% natural colour, present in each and every Macallan single malt. The colour of each expression becomes richer as the range progresses and its flavors become more intense. Amber phased out in 2018.

Macallan Single Cask 24 years old, distilled June 12, 1989. This is one of 225 bottles, released March 2014 by The Whisky Kingdom.

In the early 2000's The Macallan developed a liqueur which remains true to their high-quality credentials, while removing the taste barriers for a single malt that exist among women. All the ingredients mixed to create this drink are natural: eight-year-old Macallan, Canadian maple syrup and natural pecan nut Flavoring.

Daniela Nunzi Mihiranian, designer at Design Bridge, challenged the category rules and created a distinctive form inspired by a pure droplet of maple syrup. Beautifully detailed etched leaves and strikingly simple branding are complemented by a maple wood cap.

The Macallan Harmony Collection’s first iteration, Rich Cacao, comprises whisky that has spent an unspecified time in ex-Sherry American and European oak casks. Created in collaboration with Spanish pastry chef, Jordi Roca, the expression is housed in a recyclable and biodegradable presentation box, made using natural by-products in the chocolate-making process such as discarded husks from cacao pods.

The Macallan Concept Number 2 is the second release in the Concept Series – a collection that fuses the passion behind The Macallan’s whisky making with innovative art, music and culture. A limited edition whisky created exclusively for Global Travel Retail, Concept Number 2 brings together music and whisky - two of the passions of The Macallan Whisky Maker, Steven Bremner.

Remarkably, Steven has combined his great interests in this expression – beyond being a Whisky Maker for The Macallan, he is also an avid house music DJ.

The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Years Old forms part of the distilleries Sherry Oak range which features a series of single malt whiskies matured exclusively in hand-picked sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez for richness and complexity. A matured character, the 12 Years Old delivers rich wood spice and dried fruits and a natural rich gold color.

The Macallan Edition No. 5 celebrates The Macallan’s extensive natural colour spectrum and the intricate whisky making process, in partnership with masters at the Pantone Color Institute to create a unique shade of purple that features on the packaging.

Macallan Edition No.6 is inspired by the picturesque landscape that surrounds Macallan distillery. Matured in a combination of European and American oak hogsheads and butts, this is a fruity, spicy single malt with notes of fresh fruits, nutmeg, ginger, chocolate, toffee, and vanilla on the palate, with hints of oak spice lingering in the finish.
