The barrelhouses located on the grounds of the Jack Daniel Distillery play a very important role in the whiskey-making process. It is in these buildings that new barrels of whiskey are placed and allowed to mature over the course of several years. Due to different variables in the aging process, this is not an exact science or one that relies on a calendar. Instead, the Distillery’s experienced tasters decide when each whiskey has aged to perfection, at which time the barrel is removed from the barrelhouse and sent to bottling.

It was to commemorate one of the Distillery’s oldest and most famed barrelhouses, a 7-story building aptly named “Barrelhouse 1,” that the first of these bottles was released in the summer of 1994. This first batch of these 94 proof whiskey bottles is the most common a collector may come across, though a much smaller second batch was produced in the winter of 1999.

Wild Turkey Stampede ’55 is a discontinued limited release from the last decade of the 20th century. The story: “From Kentucky, in the heart of America, comes Wild Turkey Stampede ’55. Bottled at 105 proof, Stampede ’55 recalls the pioneering spirit of the West, when the cowboy traveled on the great, open plains, his flask of bourbon at his side. Working under the relentless sun he took care not to overfill the flask, to allow the bourbon to expand and breathe. The unique flask for Stampede ’55 authentically replicates this future'.

Bourbon Royal 8 Years Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey was distilled at the old Heaven Hill distillery in Bardstown, before it tragically burned to the ground. Bottled in 1987 and exported to Japan that very same year.

This is the discontinued expression Ancient Ancient Age 10 years old, a legend in its own time, excellent Bourbon which sadly was taken out of production years ago.

Wild Turkey 12 years is one of the most sought-after Bourbon's on the market, not without a reason as this is delicious, amongst the best Bourbons ever made. This is the 'pseudo-split label' which was launched around 2003.

This very rare Nathan Stone Selected Reserve has been bottled for Japan in 1990. It's one of just two versions ever released, the other being a Private Stock 105 Proof.

Spring River is a label produced by Heaven Hill in the 1990s. Charcoal filtered and 15 years old, this bottle was filled in 1997, which means the bourbon has been distilled in 1982 at the original Heaven Hill distillery in Bardstown. The distillery burned down the year before in 1996, with the company moving into the refurbished Bernheim distillery in Louisville in 1999.

Wild Turkey 1855 Reserve was launched in 1992, a blend of 6, 8 and 12 year old whiskies. This Barrel Proof Bourbon is actually a Wild Turkey Rare Breed, released as '1855 Reserve' for the export market.
