This Aritayaki decanter was released in 1989 to commemorate Suntory 90th anniversary. What exactly has been used to fill the decanter is unknown, one would expect Hibiki, introduced that very same year for exactly the same occasion, but until proven it remains 'just' a blended whisky. Suntory Royal Bingata
This Suntory Royal Bingata had been commissioned in honor of the former Ryūkyū Kingdom period (14th century). The bottle was produced by the famous Chibana Old Kin, decorated with flowers which, once upon a time, were blooming on Okinawa.

Bingata is a traditional stencilled resist dyeing technique originating in Okinawa Prefecture. Bingata typically features a busy pattern of repeating nature motifs such as fish, flowers and fauna in a number of bright colours. Bingata is worn during traditional Ryukyuan festivals and traditional arts performances.

Bingata dates from the Ryūkyū Kingdom period (14th century), when the island of Okinawa experienced an influx of foreign goods and manufacturing techniques. It is believed to have developed as a synthesis of Indian, Chinese, and Javanese dyeing processes.
