The Hakushu distillery is owned by the Suntory group, and situated in the Toribara locality of the former town of Hakushu, in the Yamanashi Prefecture, Chubu region, Japan.

This is a special one containing 12 year old Hakushu, bottled in 1995 in a Aritayaki Arabesque decanter with the Kanji character 寿 imprinted. This stands for the mythological creature kotobuki, a hybrid chimera consisting of parts of all the animals found in the Chinese zodiac.

Yamazakura 10 years old Pure Malt is a blend of two malt whiskies, one aged in Bourbon for 10 years, the other in Bourbon for 9 years and in New American Oak for one more year. Finished in Mizunara Wood, bottled in 2017.

Golden Horse was launched in 1948, the very first whisky sold under the supervision of Toa Shuzo. Golden Horse Special was released in the 1980's, a blend of 23% Scottish Malt whiskies, sourced from Aberlour, Laphroaig and The Macallan brought together with 77% Hanyu.

This Ocean Very Rare Old Blended Malt was bottled after 1962, containing Yamanashi Grain Whisky and Karuizawa Single Malt. In later times the name was changed into 'White' and the content downgraded to 'just' blended whisky.

Hibiki, bottled in 1992 in a Shamisen shaped decanter. A Shamisen is a three-stringed traditional Japanese musical instrument derived from the Chinese sanxian. The Shamisen is played with a special plectrum called bachi.

Back in 1876 Alexander Graham Bell was awarded the first U.S. patent for the invention of the telephone. In 1890 the first telephone line between Tokyo and Yokohama became active. In 1990 Suntory honored the 100th anniversary of this event with the release of a black ceramic decanter shaped after the iconic Table Telephone No.2 which was launched in 1906 but apparently it took until 1927 until they found there way to Japan.

This Yamazaki 12 years Pure Malt has been bottled in a Aritayaki porcelain decanter with a patron known as Nikhisi-Akadama (variety Willow in red earth) with a pair of Japanese macaque seeking shelter under the willow.

Aritayaki, also named Imari-Yaki* (伊万里焼) is the name for Japanese porcelain ware made in the town of Arita, in the former Hizen province (Saga Prefecture, north-western Kyushu in Japan). Saga prefecture is known as the first place to produce Tojiki (Japanese traditional pottery) in Japan. (*Arita porcelain was called Imari ware because it was shipped from the port of Imari).
