We assume this bottle dates from the 1st quarter of the 20th century.

Rémy Martin Louis XIII (1980-1981)
Since it's introduction in 1874 Louis XIII de Rémy Martin has been Rémy's most prestigious cognac, a blend composed of 1200 different cognacs which matured in wood between 40 and 100 years, bottled in a decanter which was shaped after a ancient Venetian bottle found on a Jarnac battlefield in the 19th century. In 1936 the glass decanter was replaced by a cristal version produced by Baccarat, Saint-Louis and Sèvres. The production of Rémy Martin Louis XIII is limited to 10.000 bottles annually.

Between 1980 and 1981 a number of old edition Louis XIII where boxed in plastic casings for the Asian market.

From an artist on the streets to full-fledged gallery showings and toys, KAWS’s latest project involves the storied cognac producer, Hennessy. This old presentation of Remy Martin Louis XIII Brand Rarest Reserve was sold in the USA between 1963 and 1968, bottled in a Baccarat decanter, delivered in a red octagonal box and accompanied by a card stating this Cognac was served to King George V and Queen Elizabeth at Versailles in July 1938 and again in April 1957 when Queen Elizabeth visited France.

Martell Chanteloup Perspective
Martell Chanteloup Perspective, launched in March 2012, is an Extra quality Cognac blended from Cognac's four main growth areas: Grande- and Fine Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois. Chanteloup is named after the Borderies Estate owned by Martell, with 250 meters the longest ageing warehouse in Europe. One of the sections, where Martell stores 2000 of their best barrels, is situated close to a viewing point overlooking the nearby valley, hence the name Chanteloup Perspective. Martell Chanteloup perspective was discontinued in 2021 and replaced by Martell Chanteloup XXO which was revealed to the world on 11 September 2019.

Martell Création Grand Extra
Martell Création Grand Extra, created for key markets such as Asia, Russia, the USA and, of course, duty-free made its debut in Asia in November 2006, followed by Malaysia in January 2007 and the other target markets later that year. Création Grand Extra is the product of several years of work by the Martell cellar master Bruno Lemoine, using some of the oldest eau-de-vie on hand, and is intended as a tribute to the Martell founder. The company says it is a reinterpretation of the Martell Extra, which was first conceived in the early nineteenth century but never widely distributed. This is the 2nd edition.
