Suntory Yamazaki 1991 Pure Malt Setsubun
Suntory Pure Malt was released in March 1984 as a no-age-statement whisky, purportedly distilled in 1972 and as such 12 years old. According to chief blender Ken Sato the development of Pure Malt's flavor profile took two years. Suntory would add a 12-year age statement to the label in 1986 and continue to release Pure Malt until 2004 by when it was replaced by the infamous Yamazaki 12 year old Single Malt.
